Earthing? That a typo? Did you mean Eating? Sure, I’ll always eat…Whatcha got?

Here’s a fact…well, a couple, actually. You are a bioelectric being on this electric planet! Your nervous system functions electrically! Healing, regeneration, and brain function all happen electrically! And here you live, on this six sextillion (that would be a six followed by 21 zeros) metric ton battery, that is continuously recharged by our solar system. Genius, right? Bravo, Universe. Yeah, so here I am, this bioelectric being on this electric planet. How do I make that work for me?

AR

It actually worked much better for you, long ago.

ME

You mean when I was a kid?

AR

Well, yes, actually. It did work better for you when your were a kid, but we were referring to humanity as a whole. A time when people roamed the Earth barefoot, slept on Mother Earth, physically connected to her. Now, humans are much more isolated from this natural energy source. Nonconductive materials like, rubber, plastic, wood, laminate, and asphalt, are used everywhere to buffer your feet from touching the Earth.

ME

Wow! So can this be as simple as taking off my shoes and socks and heading outside?

AR

Absolutely. For an everyday practice, a barefoot walk is perfect.

ME

And, what can I expect to feel?

AR

Well, let’s first talk about the results of drained energy. When your life force energy is low, how do you feel?

ME

Want a laundry list? Ok, tired, lazy, grouchy, uninspired, bitchy, crotchety, angry, stiff, thick, heavy, arthritic, tense, jittery, STRESSED, that good?

AR

Perfect. And STRESS is an important one. Doctors have said that over 95% of all “dis-ease” results when, somewhere in the body, stress causes a state of inflammation. The inflamed tissue becomes a risk for any number of diseases.

ME

Holy Schnikes. I see why de-stressing is so important to staying healthy.

AR

Yes! Also, to stay healthy, it is very important to RE-ENERGIZE! The human body is magnificently designed to heal itself, but can only do this if the life force energy is charged and flowing. Why don’t you go try it? Go walk around barefoot for five minutes, then let’s see how you feel.

(laughing) Well, the old guy across the street obviously doesn’t get me…(hysterics)He gave me the finger!

AR

So, it’s already working on an emotional level, eh? Normally you might find yourself offended by his gesture, but you are laughing, are you not?

ME

I guess you are right. I could care less. I feel pretty peaceful and calm…hints of optimism blowing in.

AR

Great. And with regular practice, you will feel the positive, physical effects, as well as the emotional ones you are experiencing immediately.

ME

Just a barefoot walk everyday?

AR

That’ll do it…of course, if you want to bring out the Nerf big guns, you could always take your yoga practice outside.

ME

According to Dr. Stephen Sinatra, Earthing does the following:

*De-fuses cause of inflammation

                                                                        *Reduces or eliminates chronic pain

                                                                        *Improves sleep

                                                                        *Increases Energy

                                                                        *Lowers stress

Enough said? You ready to GO FOR IT?

Dr. Sinatra here, recommends 30-40 minutes per day, for maximum benefit. But, I kinda dig Wellness Mama, at http://www.wellnessmama.com. She says go for a 10 minute, barefoot walk every day. And ya know what? There is no pressure to hit any number of minutes. Just lose your shoes for a fews. It’s pretty good for ya. See you all soon.
